Jon McLeod, Chairman, Chairman, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs

Jon McLeod went into legal communications and public affairs in 1994, having spent six years in financial and legal journalism.

His specialisms include: litigation communications, legal media relations, vertical sector press, marketing and events programmes, strategic counsel, directory profiling, branding and naming.

Legal organisations counselled include the Bar Council, the Law Society, the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the College of Law and the Bar Human Rights Committee.

Law firms advised include: Clifford Chance, Simmons & Simmons, Slaughter and May, Dewey Ballantine, Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, and Herbert Smith.

Chambers counselled include Matrix, Cloisters, Blackstone, Landmark, Maitland, Serle Court, 20 Essex Street, QEB, 187 Fleet Street, 6 Pump Court and Francis Taylor Building (Chambers of Robin Purchas QC).

Jon has advised on communications strategies for a wide litigation including applications for judicial review, breach of contract, intellectual property rights, fraudulent negligence, competition cases and professional negligence.

Litigation clients have included NICE, Ernst & Young, Canal Plus Technologies, fashion house Chloe, Gurkha veterans, the Motion Picture Association of America, toy and games maker Hasbro UK, Norsk Hydro, AWG plc, DaimlerChrysler UK and Mabey & Johnson.

Jon was a Board Member of the East Midlands Development Agency between 2000 and 2007 with lead responsibility for communications, ICT, human resources and remuneration. He is a former Council Member of the Nottinghamshire Learning & Skills Council.
