Ian Bailey, Managing Director, Financial Communications

Ian brings 15 years of finance, financial and corporate communications and investor relations experience from the US and UK to his role. He has led transatlantic teams and managed strategic communications programmes for large established corporations, emerging market companies and start-ups and has extensive experience of all aspects of corporate and financial communications, including investor relations, IPOs, M&A and crisis communications.

Ian joined Square Mile in 1996, before its acquisition by Weber Shandwick, and moved to the US in 1998. Having worked with leading agencies in Chicago, San Francisco and New York he returned to the UK in 2005 to join Weber Shandwick. Prior to his return, he was a Managing Director of Financial Dynamics’ US operations, head of the firm’s US technology and telecommunications practice and a member of its US Board of Directors.

Steve McCool, Deputy Managing Director, Financial Communications

Steve brings more than 17 years experience at Credit Suisse, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Hambros Bank. He specialises in strategic and financial communications, with experience across investment banking, asset management (institutional, alternative assets and property investment), private equity and wealth management. His work has covered PR, investor relations, M&A, issues management, branding, internal communications and profile management for senior executives.

Steve’s current and recent clients at Weber Shandwick include Cerberus Capital, FXall, Hedge Funds Care, Houlihan Lokey, Kingdom Zephyr, Limitless, Oliver Wyman, Samba Financial Group, Temasek Holdings and VTB Group.

Prior to working in the communications arena, Steve held various roles in business management, corporate strategy and finance, having completed his ACCA exams in 1993.

Steve has a Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Finance) degree from University College Dublin.
