Planet 2050
In 2050 the earth reaches a tipping point and we will need two planets to sustain our current consumption levels.
Planet 2050 is a specialist communications and change management practice from the Weber Shandwick network, designed to help businesses, NGOs and governments navigate the environmental and social challenges needed to operate in a planet under pressure. Acting responsibly is no longer optional.
To thrive, leading organisations are redefining their responsibilities as corporate citizens. Corporate Responsibility (CR) has emerged as a strategic business discipline that aims to align the values of employees, consumers, shareholders and other stakeholders - and harness them to drive results and build a more durable reputation.
Our understanding of corporate responsibility is built upon the premise that responsible business practice not only delivers real social and environmental benefits, but is critical to long-term business value and reputation.
Practicing what we preach
As part of our own commitment to CR, we have established an internal CR committee to guide our strategy. Subsequently, Weber Shandwick in London has been awarded the internationally recognised ISO14001 certification following a review of our environmental management and procurement practices. This forms part of our journey towards more sustainable business practices. More recently, we have also been awarded the widely-recognised Investors in People Standard which provides a practical framework for improving business performance and competitiveness through good practice in human resource development.
