Michelle McGlocklin,
Managing Director, UK Technology Practice, and Chair, European Technology Practice
Michelle has more than 19 years’ experience in the IT and communications industries. She has led pan-European teams and managed strategic communications programmes for blue chip corporations, emerging market companies and start-ups.
Michelle has been responsible for a portfolio of corporate, business-to-business, and new media IT clients, providing strategic direction and brand management consultancy for international accounts. In Europe, this portfolio has included Compaq, Seagate, Adaptec, Roxio, BroadLogic, Sprint, Hitachi, Monster, Toshiba and Microsoft. She has also worked with Fortune 500 companies in Europe to help identify and shift major perceptions, creating key “turning points” for go-to-market strategies.
As Chair of the European Technology Practice, Michelle’s mission is to help practitioners keep abreast of the latest technology trends and to provide direction and quality of results across EMEA.

John Mandeville
Head of Cleantech, UK
With over seven years of experience in technology and corporate PR, as well as public affairs, John Mandeville is an Associate Director in Weber Shandwick’s London office, where he leads the Cleantech Practice.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, John worked at APCO Worldwide in their technology, corporate responsibility (CR) and media practices in London and Brussels. During his four years in Brussels, he worked on a number of high profile media relations assignments, including the P&G/Gillette merger, and contentious technology policy debates on software patents and digital rights management.
John transferred back to London in 2006 to bring his messaging, story-telling and media strategy skills together primarily for corporate PR assignments covering environmental sustainability, innovation, and CSR. He was deeply involved with APCO’s global Corporate Responsibility practice and provided strategy, messaging and media support for a range of clients including Johnson Controls, Coca-Cola, Nike, and ExxonMobil.
He has also worked extensively with Microsoft for six years at global and regional levels. This work included experience across all aspects of corporate PR, including innovative web campaigns, global messaging frameworks, and executive speech-writing. He has notable experience in international media management, having worked on many of Microsoft’s keynote events and ongoing campaigns in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He started his career in the press office of a national political campaign and also worked for an MP before joining APCO. He studied Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen, and has a Masters in International Communication from University of Leeds. In 2005, John was shortlisted for the CIPR Young Professional of the Year.
