Weber Shandwick recognised as a Business Superbrand for 2010

Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading global public relations firms, was today revealed as one of the UK’s leading business-to-business brands by the Superbrands organisation (http://www.superbrands.uk.com/webershandwick).

The announcement follows a robust selection process administered independently by The Centre for Brand Analysis, which analysed the views of a voluntary Expert Council and over 1,700 business professionals.

Of the thousands of brands initially considered only the top 500 are deemed to be Business Superbrands and Weber Shandwick rose seven places from the previous year. 2010 is the fourth consecutive year that Weber Shandwick has made the prestigious annual listing.

Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of the expert council & CEO, The Centre for Brand Analysis, said: “Congratulations to Weber Shandwick on achieving Business Superbrands status, for the fourth consecutive year. In this economic climate a powerful brand is more important than ever. It can be a key driver of new and repeat business and a positive influence on stakeholders, ranging from employees to suppliers. As such the results of this survey are not only interesting but ultimately useful in understanding the perception the market has of these brands, and therefore their likely potency and financial success. Whilst being highly rated in this survey is pleasant news for the respective brand owners it is also an indicator of their business’s ability to grow through a brand that stakeholders, trust, want and believe in.”

Weber Shandwick’s UK & European CEO Colin Byrne comments: “We are truly delighted to be named as one of the UK’s leading Business Superbrands. The past 12 months have been nothing short of spectacular for all of us here at Weber Shandwick, with 2009 being our most award-winning year to date. Now, to be recognised as a Business Superbrand for a fourth consecutive year is a real testament to the creativity and dedication of our employees across our local, regional and global network.”

Software giant, and Weber Shandwick client, Microsoft takes the top slot this year and new entries into the top 10 include BlackBerry (3rd) and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (10th).

Now in its eighth year, Business Superbrands identifies and pays tribute to the country’s strongest B2B brands.
