MCC spices up the British Asian Sports Awards
Our specialist Multi-Cultural Communications division MCC has recently been appointed by Sony Entertainment Television Asia to promote the forthcoming British Asian Sports Awards (to be held on Feb 16th at the Hilton Park Lane). The awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of the young rising Asian sporting talent from around the UK. It also honours professional Asian sportspeople such as boxing sensation Amir Khan and cricket star Monty Panesar, both who are nominated this year for Sports Personality of the Year 2007.
Female footballer Vanisha Patel (pictured) the 15 year old from Kent is the captain of the under 16 Charlton Ladies as well as being the youngest on the team. She impressed the judges with her footballing skills and was selected from hundreds of entrants for her talents. Vanisha, along with many other rising stars attended a press conference, hosted by England cricketer Mark Ramprakash on Jan 14th at The Oval which announced the nominees. Vanisha has now been shortlisted for the Junior Sports Personality of the Year Female 2007. The winners will be announced at the star-studded awards evening on the 16th of February.
Speaking at the press conference Mark Ramprakash praised the work that BASA is carrying out, “This awards program is a fantastic opportunity to not only recognise the many sporting Asian stars this country has to offer but also support many more to come forward.”
