Weber Shandwick launches new service for SME's

With over 60% of small-to-medium-sized businesses in the UK now using PR as a preferred form of business promotion, Weber Shandwick is today launching Bitesize, a new service designed specifically to support SME’s during the current economic downturn.

Around 75 delegates will attend the launch of Bitesize as part of a series of PR master class sessions hosted by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, where they will hear Jo Leah, Weber Shandwick North's Managing Director, discuss the benefits of implementing PR on a budget.

Intended to suit smaller budgets, Bitesize will provide SME’s with a flexible approach to PR, allowing them to choose a range of tactical PR services, delivered by its team of Bitesize executives lead by Hannah Roberts, without the worry of a long-term contract or paying for layers of research, insight and strategic propositions delivered by senior people.

Bitesize offers SME’s and other interested parties media relations support from drafting one off press releases, features, comments and website copy to arranging media interviews and helping launch and promote new products and services. Interested companies can access PR executives directly, cutting out the cost of more senior advisors and strategists.

Managing Director Jo Leah adds, ‘Times may be tough, but so too are entrepreneurs and they are doing everything that they can to ride out the downturn. They get that PR can move fast, in a way that traditional advertising and direct mail simply can’t, and that it allows them to have multiple conversations with multiple audiences to get their message across – at the end of the day, it will be the SME’s that  help lift the UK out of recession’.

One of the first organisations to test out Weber Shandwick’s new service has been national accountancy firm, Haines Watts. Offering her thoughts, Lisa Thompson, Marketing Manager at Haines Watts, Manchester added: “Weber Shandwick are easy to work with and are always willing to go that extra step to deliver real results. The new Bitesize division has allowed us use PR as and when we require, without signing long retainers – which is perfect for our business.”
