Protégé - Fast Track Scheme
Weber Shandwick runs a fast track programme which aims to identify and recruit some of the brightest and most talented individuals who have chosen to build their future careers in public relations.
Initial selection and assessment comprises of assessment of an application form, followed by a telephone interview. Selected candidates are then asked to attend a one day assessment centre at our offices in London. This assessment takes place before Easter and short-listed candidates may be invited back for a further interview before offers are made. We select and develop high calibre candidates on the basis that they have the potential to become future leaders within Weber Shandwick. Successful candidates can join us from between April to September; however the Protégé development aspect starts at the beginning of September.
The scheme kicks off with a structured induction during which you will be presented with information about the different practice areas in the business providing you with a true insight into life at the world’s leading PR consultancy. You will benefit from formal training through a series of workshops designed to teach you skills such as client handling, creativity, presentation and time management. All of this will help you to become a first class PR consultant.
Following the initial induction, you will have the chance to broaden your experience and develop your understanding of PR by spending time in practice areas other than your own. For instance, you may be based in the Consumer practice but have the opportunity to spend time in the Technology and Healthcare practices. Similarly, if you join Weber Shandwick Financial - our financial and city practice - you may spend time in the Corporate and Public Affairs practices.
...and don’t think fast track means making tea and photocopying. Whilst everyone here gets involved in these tasks MD’s included we also expect you to hit the ground running. You will be assigned to client accounts at an early stage and will have the scope to learn about the business on the job as well as theoretically in training.
